WapTV Named “Indigenous TV Channel of the Decade”

Nigeria’s leading family entertainment network, wapTV, has been crowned the “Outstanding Indigenous TV Channel of the Decade” at the prestigious Marketing Edge Awards held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at the Balmoral Event Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.

Since its launch in 2012, wapTV has blazed the trail as Nigeria’s first television station to feature On-Air Personalities (OAPs) communicating in Pidgin English—promoting inclusivity and bridging linguistic divides among audiences nationwide.
