VDM Issues Stern Warning to Tonto Dikeh Over Deliverance Session at School

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has publicly warned Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh after a viral video showed the actress conducting a deliverance session involving a student during a visit to a school.

The incident has sparked widespread debate online, with many Nigerians questioning whether children should be involved in such activities in school environments.

The controversy began after Tonto Dikeh shared videos from what she described as an evangelism visit to a school. According to the actress, she and her team had gone to preach to the students and were preparing to leave when she sensed what she called a “spirit of death” around the environment. She said the feeling prompted her team to begin praying, which led to a deliverance session involving one of the students.

However, the video quickly went viral on social media, attracting strong reactions from critics and supporters alike. Among those who reacted strongly was VeryDarkMan, who released a video warning the actress not to repeat such actions in the community where the school is located.

VeryDarkMan’s Strong Warning

In his reaction, VeryDarkMan expressed displeasure over the incident, arguing that vulnerable children should not be used in spiritual demonstrations that could later become social media content.

The activist insisted that schools should remain places where children are taught practical life skills rather than being exposed to controversial religious activities. He also stressed that poor children should not be used to test spiritual claims or create viral moments online.

VeryDarkMan reportedly said the school where the incident happened is located in his community and warned that such activities should not happen there again. He maintained that the focus should be on empowering children with education and real-life opportunities rather than presenting them as victims of spiritual attacks.

The outspoken critic also claimed he had personally supported the school in the past, saying he contributed to renovations to improve the learning environment for the students. Because of that connection, he said he felt responsible for speaking up about what happened there.

Why the Video Sparked Debate

The controversy quickly spread across social media platforms, with many Nigerians sharing mixed reactions. Some people supported VeryDarkMan’s stance, arguing that schools should not become places for public deliverance sessions, especially when minors are involved.

Others defended Tonto Dikeh, pointing out that the actress has openly embraced evangelism in recent years and frequently shares her Christian faith online. Supporters said her intentions may have been to pray for the student and help spiritually rather than create controversy.

Still, the debate raised important questions about religious activities in schools and the role of consent when children are involved in such situations. Many parents online said they would not be comfortable seeing their children featured in videos of deliverance sessions shared on social media.
