Juventus Dismiss Igor Tudor After Eight-Game Winless Run
Italian Serie A powerhouse Juventus have parted ways with head coach Igor Tudor following a poor run of results that has seen the club go eight consecutive matches without a win.
The Turin-based side confirmed the decision on Monday, announcing that Massimiliano Brambilla, coach of the reserve team, will step in as interim manager ahead of Wednesday’s Serie A fixture against Udinese.
In an official statement, the club said:
> “Juventus Football Club today announces that Igor Tudor is no longer the head coach of the first team. His coaching staff—Ivan Javorčić, Tomislav Rogić, and Riccardo Lanić—have also left their positions.”
The statement expressed gratitude to Tudor and his staff for their “professionalism and dedication” and wished them success in their future careers.
Tudor’s dismissal follows a 1-0 defeat to Lazio on Sunday, which extended the Bianconeri’s winless streak to eight games and intensified frustration among supporters. The loss was Juventus’ third straight in all competitions, leaving them eighth in Serie A and struggling in the Champions League, where they languish in 25th place overall.
Appointed in March to replace Thiago Motta, the 46-year-old Croatian oversaw 24 matches, recording 10 wins, eight draws, and six defeats. His standout moment came earlier in the campaign when Juventus edged Inter Milan 1-0 on September 13 — their last victory to date.
According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, former Napoli boss Luciano Spalletti, who led the club to the 2023 Scudetto, is the leading candidate to take over permanently. Other contenders reportedly include Roberto Mancini, Raffaele Palladino, and Thiago Motta, who remains under contract with Juventus until 2027 despite being dismissed earlier this year.
Brambilla will take charge of the team when Juventus face Udinese at the Allianz Stadium on Wednesday.
