Wunmi Takes Legal Action Against TikToker Over Alleged Cyberbullying, Tells Him to Present Proof.

The widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, Omowunmi Aloba, popularly known as Wunmi, has taken a major legal step in her ongoing battle against online harassment by filing a case against a TikTok content creator over alleged cyberbullying and defamation.

The development has attracted widespread attention across social media, as it comes amid the continued public controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death and the ongoing dispute over the paternity of the couple’s son, Liam. Many Nigerians have welcomed the legal action, arguing that the time has come for unverified allegations circulating online to be tested in court.

The case has once again reignited conversations about responsible use of social media and the consequences of making serious accusations without evidence.

TikToker Accused of Defamatory Content

According to reports, the TikToker identified as Oladimeji Hammed, popularly known as Immunizer, allegedly published several videos targeting Wunmi.

The videos reportedly contained claims relating to Mohbad’s death, Wunmi’s personal life, and the ongoing family disputes that have dominated public discussions for months.

One of the allegations reportedly suggested that Wunmi intended to leave Nigeria while investigations and controversies surrounding the late singer were still ongoing.

These claims quickly spread across social media, generating thousands of comments and reactions from members of the public.

Police Investigation Leads to Court Appearance

Following the complaints, reports indicate that Immunizer was invited by the police for questioning over the allegations.

After investigations, he was arraigned before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja on a six count charge bordering on alleged cyberbullying, cyberstalking, and online harassment directed at Mohbad’s widow.

The charges center on content allegedly published on his social media platforms between February and March 2026.

However, the TikToker pleaded not guilty to all the allegations brought against him.

Court Grants Bail

Although the court granted the defendant bail, strict conditions were attached to the decision.

According to reports, he must provide two sureties before he can perfect his bail.

One of the sureties must be a state civil servant, while the second must be a blood relative.

Both individuals are also required to present evidence of tax compliance, while each must show proof of maintaining a bank account containing at least ₦700,000.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter to a later date for continuation of proceedings.

Alleged Cyberbullying Becomes Central Issue

The legal action is centered on allegations that the TikToker repeatedly used his online platforms to publish insulting, provocative, and harmful content about Wunmi.

The alleged posts reportedly questioned her integrity and continued to fuel public debates surrounding Mohbad’s death and her son, Liam.

Supporters of Wunmi argue that social media should not become a platform where individuals can freely spread allegations without credible evidence.

Many believe the court case could establish clearer boundaries regarding online accountability and digital responsibility.

Public Reactions Flood Social Media

The news quickly became one of the most discussed entertainment stories online.

HIGHLIGHTS

Many Nigerians applauded Wunmi for taking legal action instead of continuing to respond through social media.

Several users argued that anyone making serious allegations should be prepared to defend them before a court of law.

Others maintained that freedom of expression does not include the right to publish potentially defamatory statements without evidence.

Some commenters specifically urged the TikToker to present proof to support every claim he had previously made online.

Mohbad’s Case Remains Unresolved

The latest development comes as public interest in Mohbad’s death continues to remain high.

Since the singer passed away in September 2023, numerous investigations, legal proceedings, and public debates have followed.

One of the most prominent disputes involves calls for a DNA test to determine the paternity of Liam, the son Mohbad had with Wunmi.

The issue has led to an ongoing disagreement between Mohbad’s father and the late singer’s widow, with both sides maintaining different positions regarding the matter.

Online Speculation Continues

Despite repeated appeals for restraint, social media has remained filled with speculation surrounding the late singer’s death.

Numerous bloggers, influencers, and content creators have shared different theories and opinions, many of which have generated controversy.

The latest legal action suggests that Wunmi is no longer willing to ignore content she believes crosses the line into defamation or harassment.

Legal observers say the outcome of the case could influence how future online disputes involving public figures are handled.

Growing Debate About Responsible Content Creation

The incident has also reopened discussions about responsible content creation in Nigeria’s digital space.

While social media platforms have created opportunities for millions of Nigerians to build careers and express opinions, they have also increased concerns about misinformation, cyberbullying, and online harassment.

Many commentators believe creators should verify information carefully before making allegations that could damage another person’s reputation.

The ongoing court proceedings may serve as a reminder that online activities can carry legal consequences.

Supporters Call for Justice

Supporters of Wunmi have continued to encourage her to pursue the matter through legal channels.

They argue that allowing courts to determine the facts is preferable to prolonged social media arguments.

Others expressed hope that the proceedings will encourage more responsible online discussions surrounding sensitive cases involving grieving families.

Many also appealed for greater respect for Mohbad’s memory as investigations and legal processes continue.
